300 Not Out!

A milestone in the history of Alperton Lodge was achieved on Wednesday, 9th January, 2008, as it celebrated its 300th regular meeting at the New Masonic Centre, Hercies Road, Uxbridge.

To mark the occasion , the Lodge Officers of the year were replaced for the evening by members holding Provincial Lodge and Grand Lodge ranks which was informally referred to as a ’Dark Blues Night’.

The senior members of the Lodge certainly put on a good show for the many distinguished visitors and guests who were in attendance including W.Bro. Michael Blackwood PrAsstGM, and his team.

V.Wor.Bro. John Kemp PGSwdB, PPrDepGM, took the chair and with the assistance of his Officers of the night conducted a faultless 3rd Degree ceremony and Bro. Mark Emmett was raised to the degree of a Master Mason in an exemplary manner.

It was fantastic for the Junior members of the lodge to see the ’old boys’ in action and for the Senior members to prove they still have it in them to pull out all the stops and show how it should be done.

The Worshipful Master was thanked by V.Wor.Bro. Kemp for allowing the ’Dark Blues’ the opportunity of conducting the ceremony at this special occasion, and the Lodge was duly closed there being no further business.

After the ceremony a superb Festive Board was very well attended and much food and wine were taken by all present.

Gifts as a token of thanks for attending were issued to all present.

After the Festive Board the tables were quickly cleared and the evenings entertainment continued with Steve Burton and his Band providing sing-a-long tunes and foot tapping melodies for the brethren and their partners to enjoy.

Everyone agreed that it had been a fantastic evening with excellent ritual, ceremony, food, drink, entertainment and above all, company.

On behalf of the Lodge we would like to extend our gratitude to all our guests and friends who made it such an enjoyable and memorable evening.
